About Us

Alice Springs Family Day Care Inc is a community based not for profit organisation, financially supported by the Department of Education. The organisation is governed by the NT legislation. click on the links below for further information.

Family Day Care combines the benefits of other childcare options with the warmth and intimacy of being in a family home. Children in Family Day Care develop a close relationship with the Educator while being encouraged to learn through play-based programs. The smaller sized groups of children in Family Day Care create a space where children receive more individual attention as well as the social interaction they need and enjoy. Research suggests there are more positive outcomes for children in home-based care, particularly for under three-year-olds.

We believe that children are strong, interdependent, and capable individuals with a right to high-quality education and care. We value each child’s voice and abilities, supporting their eagerness to learn and grow. We hold high expectations for children’s learning and support them through the process.

Learning Through Play!

Alice Springs Family Day Care endorses learning through play with small, responsive, and nurturing environments. We provide flexible, welcoming spaces that promote and respect children’s choices. We believe in providing age-appropriate challenge to enrich learning and development, and recognising and supporting their unique, individual personalities.

Quality nurturing care and education in small groups leads to secure attachments which is critical for a child's development, positive sense of self, security and sense of belonging where children can reach their full potential.
